Wet rock cave to create safe hiding spot
Exo Terra Wet Rock caves support your reptile with a secure hiding place. A hiding place is needed for your reptile to be able to hide and sleep. Without a safe spot, reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates will easily develop stress which can effect their activity and appetite.
Exo Terra Wet Rock Caves are made from eco-friendly ceramic, which retains moisture and helps reduce moisture and temperature fluctuations that can occur, aiding the shedding process. These caves make it easy to provide a humid micro-climate, so are also ideal egg-laying sites.
Komodo Wide Entrance Rock DenRegular price £10.99
The Komodo Rock Den is a perfect hide for smaller snakes and lizards. They are a heavy, strong and durable rock that really does have a "rocky" feel to it.
If you put some moist sphagnum moss inside it will create a nice little humid den and encourage your reptile to shed its old skin.
The two available colours will work whatever habitat you have. For a leopard gecko, Uromastyx or bearded dragon you may prefer the brown colour to create a natural looking desert habitat. Whereas the grey would make a nice rocky feature in a rainforest environment that will be enjoyed by crested geckos and tree frogs.
Hides are important to many snakes and lizards because without a place where they can feel safe and secure with a sense of privacy they can become stressed and unwell. It is also helpful to encourage a place for them to shed.

Origins of the Tiki culture
A young man from New Orleans, Ernest Raymond Beaumont-Gantt, had sailed throughout the Pacific and used the many cultural and culinary impressions from his trip to create the first actual Tiki-restaurant in 1933. It featured Cantonese cuisine and exotic rum punches, with a decor of flaming torches, rattan furniture, flower leis, and brightly colored fabrics. The distinctive Maori carvings, performing arts and mythology inspired the first Tiki design. After WWII, soldiers returned from their missions in the Pacific Ocean, bringing home many souvenirs and stories. It led to an increased interest and further promotion of the Tiki culture.
The Tiki culture received an extra boost when, in 1947, Thor Heyerdahl organized the Kon-Tiki expedition: a journey across the Pacific Ocean from South America to the Polynesian islands. Heyerdahl believed that people from South America could have settled Polynesia in pre-Columbian times. To prove it, he constructed a raft out of native materials, based on the design found in old illustrations. The excitement surrounding his expedition eventually led to an explosion of the Tiki Culture. Similar, more recent journeys like the Tangaroa, An-Tiki and Kon-Tiki clearly show a renewed interest in the Tiki-culture and mythology. Tiki-themed events and conventions have begun to spring up.
